Job Specification: HR Officer - Mining - Free State

Position: HR Officer
Location: Free State, South Africa
Industry: Mining


The HR Officer will be responsible for providing efficient and effective HR support services to the mining operation in Bloemfontein. This includes managing employee relations, recruitment and selection processes, performance management, and ensuring adherence to HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee grievances and disciplinary issues, ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws.
  • Facilitate effective communication between management and employees.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job posting, screening applications, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment equity legislation and promote diversity in the workplace.
  • Coordinate and monitor performance appraisal processes.
  • Assist in the development of performance improvement plans and ensure their timely implementation.
  • Provide training to managers on performance assessment and feedback techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Continuously review and update HR policies as required.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices align with company standards.


Requirements:
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, within the mining industry.
  • Knowledge of South African labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience in employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Salary: R300K/yr – R420K/yr
